I went with a friend the other day and ordered the soup with dumplings. After eating the kolbasi sandwich which was probably one of the best sandwiches that I have ever eaten, I decided to order one more. What a great mixture of kolbasi, saurkraut, mustard, tomato on the perfect bun. Can't wait to go back.

Our first time, very good! Homemade Hungarian food with all the feels! Very homey atmosphere with a local-pub feel. We each had a pork cutlet dish, and then... dessert!

This place honestly was amazing! The best goulash I think I've ever had. Also had the chicken paprikàs which was great. We brought our family of 6 and they were very kind and receptive to having young children. Highly recommend if you like Eastern European cuisine.

This is a North Side gem! If you want a truly authentic Hungarian, Olde world experience, you must give Huszar a try! The food and service were excellent! Do not skip dessert! Take a look at the pastry case for the most beautiful house made desserts! I ate here numerous times during my time in Pittsburgh. It was one of my final meals the last week before I relocated. Make a reservation so you are not disappointed too!

Divine and authentic! We came here following a trip to Budapest and enjoyed the place thoroughly. We had the langos, cucumber salad w sour cream, cabbage, schnitzel w mushroom paprikash, and bacon and cheese stuffed pork. Loved the European beer options and everything was super fresh, hot, and FAST! Not in a super great area (parking was challenging) but we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and the place is absolutely worth a visit. Our server was also lovely and professional. 10/10.

I've driven by this place so many times when I worked in the neighborhood and I finally had a chance to stop by and I regret not finding this place sooner!! We got a few very tasty dishes here and the food is comforting, very flavorful and tastes like home. It's like an elevated home cooking. Not pretentious and totally delicious. The chicken paprikas is excellent. I also loved the Magyar schnitzel with the mushroom sauce and langos was such a tasty appetizer. The service was good, prompt and friendly. We loved the mom n pop feel of the restaurant. I can't wait to come back and try other dishes!

We went for lunch today for my brother's birthday. It's a nice little hidden gem for sure. I had the Chicken Paprikas. The chicken was very tender and full of flavor and the dumplings were perfect. My boyfriend got the schnitzel and said it was great as well. My brother got the ribs that were on special for the day at the recommendation of our servor and oh my gosh they were amazing. Fall off the bone tender and packed full of flavor. If you see that as their special TRY IT. My sister in law got the steak and it was really good too. The service was fast and our server was very nice and was good at recommending dishes since we had never been there before.

A new favorite for my family. My son wanted to try traditional Hungarian food so I looked up the options in the area for a Sunday afternoon. I have to say we were so thrilled with our choice. For a bar and grill set up it really felt more like a traditional family restaurant with a lot of love and care. Clean, inviting, and the food and service were the best we've had in a long time. So grateful there are places like this still around. Thank you Huszar for the hospitality. And by the way, don't leave without getting dessert. It completed our meal perfectly. Wonderful options.

Food was great! Appetizers were so good forgot to take pictures. The portions were great. One of the owners Judy greeted us and was very welcoming. I had the steak, the fired onions were piled high and crispy. My mousse cake was delicious and was told it is made fresh! If you go during peak eating hours make sure to make a reservation as there is limited seating.

Absolutely wonderful meal - not quite the same as my Grandmother's recipe, but as close as I've tasted in 20 years! If you love Hungarian/Slovak food, this is the place to be. The owners and staff are friendly, and interested in discussing their food heritage. The nokedli (dumpling or spaetzle to non-natives) are incredible, and it's such a rare treat to find them in a restaurant. The Chicken Paparikish and the Gypsy Pork are both amazing, and the portions are quite large. The rich chicken soup has a deep, hearty stock base which just might contain some anise in addition to celery and onion (unconfirmed). We sat at the bar, and the service was efficient and well-informed, but there's plenty of tables too. Even better, for 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, beer, and wine our bill (with tip) was $100. Don't miss one of the most delicious and unique meals in Pittsburgh!
